Where oh Where

Where has Jami been, what has she been up to? Why hasn’t she been blogging as much as she promised?

Well, Frankly I didn’t feel like it. But, I have been busy, not all completely with my crafts but also with Sparrow Comics. I was able to procure another copy of Angel issue 1 and 2-4 first prints. I’m not sure if I’ll be putting them up for sale or not. Along with my Sparrow Comics, responsibilities, as I’m the sole worker, I did the 2011 inventory, and it looks like this years comics I’m searching for will be James O’Barr’s The Crow comics. Any and all as I lost what all I had this past fall due to mold from the abundance of rain we had in the summer. My Batman collection received a GREAT contribution from a new found friend! I must admit I’m loving my Night Fall collection! (Which is NOT for sale EVER!) Sparrow comics will be adding three comics to it’s Ebay inventory next week.

The Green Lantern

august 168

Superman and ManBat

august 166

The Hulk and Power Man and Iron Fist

august 167

These are all mid 80’s comics, The Green Lantern comes from my own personal collection. The only one to survive, the fall mold epidemic, of my Green Lantern collection that is.

After finishing up with all my Sparrow Comics stuff, I had some time to de-stress. Though tinkering with my comics wasn’t stressful, keeping the nosey toddler out of them was VERY stressful. So after putting her and Mikey who is now mobile to bed. I had some down time to crochet and knit. I didn’t realize how lacking my knitting skills had become as I’ve been sticking mainly to crochet as of late. (Did that even make sense?)  ANYWHO, I managed to put together several cup cozies. I’m not really a coffee drinker, and there isn’t a local Starbucks around here, I stick mainly to DQ’s hot chocolate. But, seeing as I didn’t keep any of those cups I measured everything to fit a Coca Cola bottle, that could come back to bite me later. I started out making the Lemon Coconut Tissue cozy from Twinkie Chan’s book. Mine is actually like my Grandmother’s chocolate snowball cake. I love it!!!

It still needs a bit of a trim and a tissue box to make it complete. After falling in LOVE with this thing I decided to try my hand at making the cozies. And came up with this little fella.

Then I wanted to make a Red Velvet one. It’s not my favorite but It gave me a chance to try a different pattern.

Then to go along with the cake theme I made a German Chocolate cozy. It’s my least favorite, but still something I hadn’t seen before.

After all this cutsey stuff I had to get my geek on and put together this little Cthulhu Cozy. He still needs eyes, but it’s my favorite.

Ummm, yes I did get thirsty. I was de-stressing, I needed Caffeine!

And Finally, I wanted to make a cheesecake cozy. Which personally I think looks more like toast and jam… But, it’s all in the eye of the beholder right?

I had finished my bottle by the time I got to this one, so it needs a warm cup of joe to go around.  I had so much fun making theses that I now want to find the right dimensions and make more. Maybe, some of what I’ve already put together or more creative ideas. Who knows… So, after all this cozy making I was kinda tired of the same shape and wanted something a bit more different. I then set forth to make a cover for my phone. Originally it was supposed to be an oreo cookie. But after the first go at it I noticed that it looks a LOT like and ice cream sandwich. I am not sooooo in <3 love <3 with this little thing I don’t EVER want a new phone!!! Ok, that may be and exaggeration, but if you’re a foodie loving diva such as myself you know what I mean.

Well, that’s what I’ve been up to. There is still more to come and with Valentine’s Day coming up we get to see how many little card Jami cn make before going mad. Chloe and Natalie decided that this year they wanted to give out hand made cards instead of store bought ones. I’m considering making a batch of recycled paper to use. But, that’s still in the “considering stages.” Ciao Bella! Until Next time!
